Construction Cost: $280 million
This 12-story, 74,000 sq. foot expansion is the very first new LEED Silver-certified hospital in Alabama. As sub-consultants, our challenge was to outfit the 28 new patient beds, 20 new operating rooms, new emergency room, and labs. Our task also included the central energy plant, green roof system, heliport, and parking. Building out the new administration offices, a cafeteria, and other common areas likewise fell under our jurisdiction.
